Germany, the flight home

Just a few noteworthy things from our journey home.

There were no Kinder eggs at the Duty Free shop at the airport. What the heck?

Air France food, on the way to Paris, was terrible.

Charles de Gaulle airport was terrible. There were no signs telling us which terminal or gate to go to to catch our connecting flight, and once we did find out where to go, the Sky Priority line was horribly long (though thankfully not as long as the regular line). We only had about an hour to find our gate in time for boarding, and then another hour til departure. we were a little late for boarding, but made it! I intended to take some cute pictures of our one hour trip to Paris, but we had no time. I also wanted to buy some macarons at a pretty shop there, but they were crazy expensive (30 euros for the smallest box). So we just boarded and got on our way. The other thing left undone was arranging a pickup from the SLC airport. Whoops!

happy to have found the line that eventually lead to our gate

relieved to finally have boarded the plane!
The audio on my TV didn't work, for a 12 hour flight. It was a real bummer. I finished Guernsey, and absolutely loved it. And I started "The Princess Academy."

our flight-home getup

Thankfully after we landed, we were able call A's mom, and she picked us up from the airport. We got settled at home, and then started a nap at 4:30 pm, intending to wake up at 6:00 pm. Yeah, that didn't happen. I woke up at 11:30 pm thinking it was morning. I couldn't sleep, so I read more Princess Academy on my iPod for a few hours, then went back to sleep until 6:00 am.

Jetlag is a bummer.

We had a similar (bad) experience at Charles de Gaulle airport last summer, except that we bought the expensive macaroons!

Glad you didn't miss your flight and that you got home safely.
So glad you made it home safe! That sounds like a miserably stressful time trying to get to where you needed to go!
