In which we get a blendtec...

We got a blendtec last week. I LOVE it! Yesterday my mom and I made  blender cheesecake. Here's what you do. Put 13 graham crackers in the blender, and blend them up. Then add a teaspoon lemon juice and some butter, blend it more, then press it into a springform pan, and bake for five minutes at 350 degrees.

Rinse out the blender, add two packages of cream cheese, a chip of sugar, two eggs, and half a teaspoon lemon juice. Blend, and put onto the cooled crust. Bake for 45 minutes at 350. Refrigerate, then serve. With cherries.

Well hello there. Long time no blog. Turns out not much is new. I'm still working. A is still in school.  We don't see each other much on weekdays, which is rough.

We watched some funny movies this weekend, first ” Run Fat Boy” then ”North.” I vaguely remembered North from my childhood. It is awesome.

I'm also in the middle of ”The Help.” I'm listening to it as I commute, which makes the drive so much more enjoyable. And, it is an amazing story. Listening to it is definitely pacing me.

Perhaps the most exciting new news is that we bought a blend tec!  I'm real excited about it. I love my green smoothies.

The end, for now.

Update

I re-posted the gun cabinet picture, hopefully bigger. My favorite sticker says ”china has gun control.” So bizarre.

Only at the DI...

Do you find fun cabinets like this
(this is inside).

Chow Truck

Do we have amazing food tricks in Salt Lake? Why yes, we do. Meet the Chow Truck.

Chels and I went there for tacos and sliders and chips, with an asian twist. The beef tacos were spectacular. Seriously amazing. And Chelsea and I enjoyed our usual lively conversion.

So fun.

Bday Breakfast

Happy Birthday to Trisha!

We went to Eggs in the City for breakfast. Trish had crepes with nutella (yum!) and I had  brulee, which is steel cut oats with candied pecans and bananas and caramelized brown sugar. It was so good!

We also had a great time reminiscing on old times, and getting our thrift on at the di.

a spectacle

Loving my new specs, though for now they make me a bit dizzy.

new love.

First, I found Pinterest. Are you on? It is lovely, so many beautiful things. I spent way too much time on there tonight, but since I don't have homework, I don't feel too bad about it.

So through Pinterest I found this site, the beauty department. I am so in love. The hair tutorials are my favorite. Like this one. I think I will try it tomorrow.

no such thing as blue lemons.

We went to one of the free organ concerts at temple square today. It was lovely. Then we walked around downtown and admired the new City Creek development.

We had lunch at the Blue Lemon. The menu looked very nice, and the restaurant was new and chic. I ordered a roasted beet and arugula salad, A ordered a raspberry chicken salad, and we got sweet potato fries to share.

The presentation was very nice, but the food itself was lacking. The fries were on the cold side. My salad had more radicchio than arugula, and the roasted beets were cold. I don't know that I'd go back.
