long-time no-blog.

It has been awhile. I've been busy (not) doing homework, knitting, and cooking dinners on a regular basis. I also feel sort of at a loss, almost like I have too much to say to actually say it.

Daily I go from one extreme to another: loving school and the classes I'm taking, to feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and SO ready to be done. I try to talk myself into dropping out, but just can't face it. I guess I'll have to finish college, *sigh.

So let me tell you about my two latest obsessions:

I'm getting really into food lately. I always thought organic was silly, now I'm totally on board. Organic should be the rule, carcinogenic pesticides (on most cherries and strawberries) should be the exception, and should be marked as such. (We have the right to know!) Also, Sunflower does not carry grass-fed beef or really anything, and the only organic produce at Winco? Bananas. I may be doing this through Liberty Heights Fresh, which is exciting. Everyone should watch Food Inc. and read The Omnivore's Dilemma. Let's eat ethically, who's with me?

I am still sort of into "fashion." I haven't shopped in awhile, but now that it is a new month that may change. I've decided I could be perfectly happy shopping exclusively at thrift stores, with the exception of jeans and some shoes. I have been so lucky in my recent finds! Lately I just haven't wanted to take the time to photograph outfits, but I have had some darn good ones.

Sunday I wore an awesome wool plaid skirt that includes purple and orange in the color scheme, with a purple turtleneck, as well as a wide grosgrain ribbon as a belt.

Yesterday I borrowed (stole) a vintage Pendelton wool plaid shirt I gave A for Christmas, paired it with some navy leggings, brown riding boots, and a brown belt my mom wore on her mission in Ecuador.

Today, I wore a white peasant shirt with royal blue cross stitching that my grandparents brought back from their mission to Mexico. It has puff sleeves. I tucked it into my jeans and wore a cute blue belt, with some dangly-hoopy earrings.

Tomorrow I have an interview, and will likely wear my bright yellow cardi with a scarf from Spain, a vintage Pendelton blazer in charcoal, and probably dark jeans and some flats. (Is it unprofessional to wear jeans to an interview? I have classes before, so I don't want to be too fancy.)

What about just Whole Foods? There's one over by my place.

Wear slacks or a skirt to your interview. Nobody at your classes will really care if you are overdressed, but you should always dress professionally for an interview and they WILL care if you don't.

I wore slacks, and a blazer. My interviewers were both wearing jeans! Then I felt overdressed, but good news, I got it!
Boo for not taking pictures lately! Although I enjoy reading about the outfits it's much more fun to see them :)
