I've been thinking about Rufus Wainwright lately, I like that song. So, I've been a blog slacker for a long time now. Here's what has been going on:
For my birthday, which was February 28th, A made delicious chocolate crepes with strawberries and whipped cream. Yum! He gave me this awesome jacket in cranberry, which just happens to exactly match my dansko clogs and both pairs of glasses I wear. So basically, I'll always coordinates, since I wear those three things almost every day now. For dinner, my family took me to Pho Green Papaya, and let me tell you, the pho (pronounced kind of like "fuh") was delish. Brother M says it all. Then, on Friday, we celebrated Mom's birthday with all six children, which was fantastic. Nepolitano pizza with fantastice antipasto from Caputos and gelato what we ate, and it was also delish. Saturday was the big shabang for Mom's 60th, with extended family and close friends.
More recently, my office moved from the 8th floor to the 14th. Moving really is a bummer, no matter how nice the new space is or how much it is needed.
A made delicious hot wings with sauce from B-dubs, and then our mouths were on fire so I had to make peach milkshakes. Coming soon: pictures of this dinner!
Saturday most recent, I had a fieldtrip for my Urban Environmental Geography class, where we drove around and looked at drainage basins, the Bonneville shoreline, and studied basic hydrology. There were six students, and we were in a University minivan. I was the only female, so I climed in the back and just hoped that the two gus, C and T, who I know are married and wouldn't try anything, and who are alos planners, would come sit by me. C did, and just as T was about to, this other kid, A, came and sat right in between C and me. At first he just smelled like sweat, then gradually I could smell the sweet hint of tobacco. I couldn't tell if it was him, so I kind of just ignored it. So, I had a traumatic experience with smoking as a child, so don't get me wrong, I don't dislike smokers, just smoking. Mostly the smell. So, every time we got out of the car, this guy would pull the same fat stubby cigarette out of this brown plastic bag and lite up. By the end of the trip, was covering my nose with my jacket, counting down the minutes, and trying not to swallow. I could taste it in the back of my mouth. Yuck.
I went to lunch with my good friend C on Saturday as well, and yet again, I'm going to let brother M give you the review. I only get the eggroll, no pork, and it's still more than I can eat. After lunch, T colored my hair. It's dark brown now, which isn't really my natural, but i pretend that it is so I don't feel like I'm wasting money.
Sunday, I taught primary, then gave the sharing time, spoke in sacrament meeting, and then went to a farewell. It was not so fun.
The good news is, I'm leaving. Tomorrow. For California. Yay!
